LNG |
Ann Hayward Walker, President of SEA, has been invited to participate on a panel, "Improving Stakeholders' Perception of LNG" at the 15th International Conference and Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas in Barcelona, Spain from 24-27 April, 2007.
LNG Industry magazine requested Walker to provide an article for the Summer 2007 issue which will be devoted to LNG Safety. The article is in progress and the proposed title is Proposed LNG Terminals: Safety Considerations for Emergency Preparedness.
Walker gave a presentation on "Proposed Import Terminals: Emergency Preparedness Considerations for Facility/Vessel Interface and Transits" at the LNG Summit in Seville, Spain in May 2006.
Walker was a guest speaker at Interspill 2006 in London and presented a paper on "Response to LNG Spills. |

Maritime Salvage Conference & Expo, sponsored by the American Salvage

John Joeckel, SEA's Vice President of Emergency Preparedness, has been heavily engaged over the past few months working with our power utility and other facility clients in various USCG Captain of the Ports in facilitating compliance efforts in the new Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) regulations. Joeckel has been making many presentations, implementation guidance and site visits. Facility Security Plan amendments and personnel training to fully meet these requirements are scheduled for completion over the next weeks and months.
Additionally, Joeckel recently completed Mobile Facility Response Plans and associated Operations Manuals to extend business operations for a client in thirteen (13) USCG Captain of the Ports. A wide range of emergency preparedness, training and homeland security projects are currently underway and scheduled for completion in the next couple of months for various clients up and down the eastern seaboard. |

Debra Scholz, SEA's Environmental/Preparedness Manager, conducted a tabletop exercise on cross-boundary decision-making for dispersant use on the Delaware River at the joint Regional Response Team meeting in Edison, NJ in January 2007 for Regions II and III.
Scholz was invited as a guest speaker for The Eighth
International Effects of Oil on Wildlife Conference - "Sensitive
Species, Sensitive Habitats" from August 3rd-5th, 2005
in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. She presented
a 2 hour session on the Selection Guide for Oil Spill Applied
Techologies, the oil spill products and chemicals regulated
by the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency
Plan (NCP) under Subpart J (40 CFR 300.900). The focus of
this session was on the use of the various product categories
and evaluation of the potential impacts/injuries to wildlife
in the affected area. |

SEA was recently awarded two multi-year contracts by Consolidated Edison of NY to provide a range of oil spill preparedness/response and security support services to the Con Edison Steam Business Unit. |

SEA recently was awarded subcontracts with Weston Solutions Inc. for work on three long-term Superfund Technical Assessment and Response Team (START) contracts with EPA. Two contracts are to provide full-time environmental engineers on the EPA Region I and Region II on the Removal Support Teams (RST) and the other contract is to provide environmental engineers on an as needed basis for the Region II Site Assessment Team under the START program. |

Josh Dubach, formerly of SEA, responded as part of
the Incident Managment team with Gallagher Marine Services
for the M/V Seladang Ayu Grounding off Dutch Harbor, Alaska.
He was stationed on scene for approximately two months.

In 2006, SEA developed a model regional contingency plan for the US Navy under subcontract to Baker Environmental Services, Inc. This project consolidated the Navy On-Scene Coordinator (NOSC) Plan for NAVSTA Norfolk, NAVPHIBASE Little Creek, and NAS OCEANA Facility Response Plans into one Commander, Navy Region Mid-Atlantic (CNRMA) Oil and Hazardous Substance Regional Facility Response Plan. |

SEA received the US
Small Business Administration's Administrator's Award for
Excellence. In September, 2003, SEA was recognized
by the U.S. Small Business Administration in recognition of
outstanding contribution and service to the nation by a small
business in satisfying the needs of the Federal procurement system.
SEA was nominated for the commendation by Carl Kelly of
Weston Solutions Inc. as the US Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA) Region II Removal Support Team Contractor. |
